Environment, Health, Safety (EHS) Officer (J&F)

Position Overview

EHS Officer is responsible for implementing and maintaining the plant’s Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) programs, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment through risk assessments, trainings, inspections, and incident investigations. While safety is the primary focus, the role also provides limited support to environmental compliance activities as needed, in coordination with the designated Environment Officer.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and update Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and documentation in compliance with occupational safety and health standards.
• Conduct Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control (HIRAC), and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Deliver safety orientation, training, and awareness programs for employees, visitors, and contractors.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations, perform root cause analysis, and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities, identify unsafe conditions or acts, and coordinate corrective actions with responsible departments.
• Ensure compliance with DOLE-OSH standards, OSHC guidelines, and internal company safety policies and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain safety documentation for internal audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance requirements.
• Facilitate monthly EHS meetings, toolbox talks, and emergency preparedness and response drills.
• Monitor, analyze, and report safety performance metrics on a monthly and annual basis.
• Support environmental management activities when required, including waste management checks, documentation, and assistance during regulatory audits, under the guidance of the Environment Officer.
• Promote and strengthen a proactive safety culture across all levels of the organization.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as DMAIC, FMECA, and RCA tools (5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, 6W2H, Breakdown Analysis).
• Support production operations as needed, including holidays and rest days, and maintain flexibility in shifting schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering & Project Manager to support operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any related Engineering discipline; Licensed Engineer preferred.
• Certified Safety Officer 2 (SO2) under DOLE-OSH Requirements; SO3/SO4 or PCO training is an advantage.

Experience

• At least 1–3 years relevant EHS or safety experience in a manufacturing environment.

Skills

• Strong understanding of OSH standards, risk assessments, incident investigation, and safety documentation.
• Good command of communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with all levels of employees and external agencies.
