Safety Leader – 2nd Shift

Watertown, WI

 

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will drive performance and results in Occupational Safety through development of member ownership in safety, general OSHA program compliance leadership, and continuous safety improvement through capital improvements and technical projects. The Safety Leader owns facility OSHA compliance training and will lead accident investigation and prevention programs that deliver World Class results. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Safety culture of ownership, involvement and personal accountability
  • Lead and support Risk Assessments and RCAs
  • Develop innovative technical safety solutions for plant operational problems
  • Coach Team Leaders and Members to deliver actions and success within the safety systems
  • Develop Safety Team Members to higher levels of ownership and responsibility through member involvement initiatives
  • Assist with new member orientation
  • Lead member-based teams to analyze behavior-based safety information and provide solutions that truly drive our facility to World Class Safety
  • Support member-based safety teams in managing change
  • Collect and organize scientific data and develop trend analysis
  • Own OSHA Compliance Training and administrative support for Velocity (safety documentation system)
  • Support and drive performance in other functional areas to ensure success in achieving facility key imperatives in quality, cost, service and development

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree achieved/in process or significant equivalent experience required

 

Experience:

  • 2-3 years of technical safety experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong coaching and leadership skills

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven ability to successfully facilitate projects in a team-based environment
  • Demonstrated track record of project management success
  • Proven ability to drive results in OSHA regulatory compliance programs
