Member Services (Human Resources) Generalist

Watertown, WI

This is a great opportunity to use your expertise in human resources and business to support and drive success for a team of outstanding ‘Members’ (employees) at our family-owned meat manufacturing facility in Watertown, Wisconsin.  Johnsonville is the Number 1 national sausage meat processor and is looking for someone who wants to be a part of our Johnsonville family and take ownership of their career while using their God given talents to bring new and different ideas to the company. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create, implement, and support initiatives that build Johnsonville’s culture and ensure it continues to thrive and serve as a strategic advantage for the organization – now and in the future
  • Help lead and roll out strategic projects around recruitment, retention, and engagement
  • Demonstrate knowledge in all federal, state, and local employment laws and procedures
  • Assist Coaches (supervisors) in investigations and facilitate resolution of member relations issues ensuring fair and consistent resolutions
  • Help support the hourly recruiting process from start to finish and collaborate with department supervisors to discuss hiring needs
  • Develop and improve policies, programs, and procedures to advance the effectiveness of human resources and operations
  • Coach and influence others to make timely decisions using sound leadership practices, Johnsonville guidelines and legal considerations
  • Work with teams to improve the quality of work life and member engagement
  • Assist members with utilizing the great indirect compensation programs Johnsonville has to offer
  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development department to facilitate new hire orientation
  • Gather information for unemployment claims and assist in unemployment hearings
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required. (Willing to consider internal members who are actively pursuing Bachelor’s Degree.)
  • SHRM or PHR certification preferred

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of human resources work experience required; Preferably in a manufacturing environment 
  • Experience leading and supporting strategic initiatives, influencing others, and driving result
  • Written and verbal Spanish skills are preferred

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Computer literacy and experience with HR Information Systems experience
  • Organized, detailed and able to prioritize workload in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to assess personnel policies, programs, and procedures, and inform members and coaches on the interpretation and understanding of each
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality

Member Status:                  Full Time, Salaried    

Hours:                                 Mid Shift; rotating support with a start time between 10am-12pm and end time between 6pm-10pm. (overtime expected and occasional work on other shifts)  

Travel:                                Up to 10% of your time
