US Commercial Finance – US Trade Promotion Management Analyst 

 

Position Overview:

As a member of the Johnsonville US Commercial Finance Team, the US Trade Promotion Financial Analyst will combine their financial technical and analytical expertise to impact the success of the Sales and Marketing teams through structured reporting, analytics and management of Johnsonville’s Alternative Channels’ Blacksmith Trade Promotion Management System, plus additional support for the CBP TPM system. This is a cross-functional role that will impact Sales, Marketing, Finance and the Commercial Planning teams. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide active leadership and support to the Sales Team for Trade Promotion Management business application, with a focus on Alternative Channels’ Blacksmith Trade Promotion Management System, including creating reporting, and processes that will be critical to the Business’ long-term growth and profitability
  • Be the front-line support to our TPM solutions to ensure that the systems are optimized and reflect the changing business needs
  • Monitor pricing execution against strategy and identify optimal thresholds and gaps, monitor and clear pending claims daily
  • Assist with the monthly close process by analyzing results, key accounts, reports and summarizing results for leadership, understanding the financial drivers within discounts & trade
  • Serve as an internal expert for Excel tools and reporting.
  • Participate and manage in the Robotic Process Automation bot process
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop recommendations for promotional investments
  • Identify necessary changes to promotional plans to increase trade system accuracy inclusive of understanding consumption trends
  • Partner with the sales team to develop annual budgets and monthly projections for discount and trade within the integrated business planning process
  • Advise on promotional plan modifications based upon past performance
  • Facilitate reporting requirements and needs with Sales Leadership and IT
  • Conduct annual and ad hoc system administration tasks to ensure system integrity and accuracy
  • Develop training documentation and communication of system enhancements
  • Test and validate trade systems upgrades and implementations
  • Develop and manage annual customer planning files
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships at all levels of the organization to provide meaningful analysis, insights and recommendations
  • Continuously learn the overall business including competitive landscape, sales and marketing strategies, operations and supply chain as you work with cross functional members

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of Accounting and/or Finance experience
  • TPM, SAP, BPC and other reporting systems preferred

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills along with natural inquisitiveness to exploring data and looking for insights to drive business decisions
    • Ability to retrieve, merge, interpret, and explain data from numerous sources
    • Focused on continuous improvement
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • The ability to instill trust and confidence with business partners and other finance team members through strong presentations and written communications
    • The ability to take complex data / information and drive it to simple, meaningful insights
  • Ability to filter data, removing the noise and focusing on the most important issues and trends
  • Strong computer skills required (Planning system, ERP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Track record of delivering excellent results
  • Ability to create the new and different, especially when working with incomplete or disparate data and information
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and diverse relationships
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative on all work assignments
  • Desire for continued growth and learning
