Strategic Planner – Fresh Network

 

Position Overview:

As part of Johnsonville’s Supply Chain team, the Strategic Planner for our fresh network will have the opportunity to develop and manage the execution of long-range production plans and inventory strategies across our fresh finished goods network.  This member will also be directly responsible for the Fresh Network Supply Reviews as part of our monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.  This position reports to the Director of Supply Chain Planning and will have direct coaching responsibilities for the Fresh Master Scheduler, with indirect reports.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage your understanding of the Fresh network and business needs to manage an inventory strategy that achieves service level objectives while optimizing working capital over a 3-year horizon
  • Continually evaluate our fresh manufacturing network, ensuring capacity is available to meet sales demand and inventory needs over a three-year horizon
  • Ensure the successful handoff of strategic planning to tactical planning horizons
  • Partner with plant leadership to identify improvement opportunities for scheduling optimization within the fresh network
  • Maintain Supply Network Planning master data (material, resource, inventory) in the o9 planning system of record
  • Through feedback from the Director of Supply Chain Planning, ensure the continuous improvement of our Integrated Business Planning process
  • Coach the Fresh Master Scheduler; with a focus on member development, continuous improvement, and metric performance.
  • Serve as the Supply Chain lead for cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Contribute to capacity modeling as part of the annual budgeting and capital planning processes
  • Identify and facilitate discussions around continuous improvement opportunities in the Fresh Network

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Operations, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field required

 

Experience:

  • 5+ years of progressive supply planning experience, required
  • Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, required
  • Experience in Sales and Operations Planning or Integrated Business Planning processes, required
  • Proven track record of managing/executing successful planning strategies, required
  • Experience in CPG Food industry, strongly preferred
  • Project leadership experience is a plus

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Requires strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)
  • Strong leadership skills, inclusive of developing direct reports
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly build and maintain relationships
  • Financial acumen, inclusive of basic understanding of P&L
  • Ability to negotiate to gain acceptance for ideas
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
