Senior Accountant / Finance Manager

 

Position Overview:

Johnsonville, LLC, a strong, high-growth company, has an excellent opportunity for an outstanding individual to join us as a Senior Accountant or Finance Manager.  This position is responsible for ownership of the monthly close process, maintaining financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, and leading or providing support for strategic projects throughout the organization.  You will lead initiatives over the company’s internal control policies, financial systems, and risk management.  You will also have the opportunity to coach and develop team members who are committed to excellence.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Take an active role in helping to shape the future of compliance team as well as partner with other members of the broader finance team to drive world-class processes and insights, as well as promote culture of personal learning and professional development.
  • Maximize compliance effectiveness by leading and/or providing support for several transformational projects in areas including policies and internal controls, risk management, cash flow design optimization, and financial systems transformation.
  • Drive adherence to new and existing accounting guidance under US GAAP and IFRS, including modification to existing policies, procedures and accounting. Conduct research and provide interpretive recommendations on technical matters.
  • Be responsible for the month-end close and corporate consolidations process by coordinating close efforts across the broader finance team to ensure all corporate guidelines and timelines are met.  Take a more involved role in domestic close process.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships at various levels of the organization in order to provide a meaningful insights and recommendations, including informational insights to the Financial Planning and Analysis team to help drive forecast accuracy, bring numbers to life, support decision making as well as aid process improvement initiatives with can-do attitude.
  • Lead annual group financial statement audit including addressing any concerns throughout the audit process, the preparation of the external financial statements, and the presentation of audit results to leadership.
  • Coordinate preparation of supporting schedules that are provided to a third-party engaged to prepare Johnsonville income and state tax returns. Respond to information inquiries as needed.
  • Own the structure of the consolidated financial statements, including the accuracy of master data in the financial systems that drive the reported results of the consolidated financial statements.
  • Serve as a key business partner in integrating the financials and related business processes for Company’s acquisitions, including resulting restatements.
  • Coach your team of one to develop their God-given talents and position them for success on both personal and professional level.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • CPA license or near completion CPA required

 

Experience:

  • Minimum five to seven (5)-(7) years of accounting experience required, with some public accounting preferred
    • The position title upon hire (Senior Accountant or Finance Manager) will be based on candidate’s length and scope of experience. If brought in as a Senior Accountant, the intent is for the right candidate to be Manager ready within one year.
  • Well-grounded technical knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with IFRS desired
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with a financial consolidation process and system (SAP and BPC knowledge a plus)
  • Manufacturing industry experience highly preferred
  • Tax experience a plus
