Director, Demand Planning
Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Director of Demand Planning to lead our global demand planning function. This role is critical to the success of our Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process and the adoption of our o9 Connected Planning platform. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of leadership, cross-functional collaboration and system fluency to build a best-in-class demand planning capability that drives accuracy, alignment and transparency across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Development
- Mentor and develop a high-performing demand planning team, fostering a culture of curiosity, ownership, and data-driven decision-making
- Lead organizational change management efforts to embed a planning mindset, tool adoption and cross-functional accountability
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the global demand planning team, setting vision, priorities, and standards for process excellence and continuous improvement
- Serve as the process leader for the Demand Review step of IBP, facilitating alignment between commercial, finance, and supply chain stakeholders
- Champion the use of o9’s advanced planning capabilities, including AI/ML driver-based forecasting, statistical models, and scenario planning tools
- Drive the integration of long-range strategic assumptions into the demand plan, ensuring that the forecast reflects business strategy, market dynamics, and financial objectives
Forecasting & Analytics
- Oversee development of the consensus demand forecast across all time horizons (execution, tactical, strategic), balancing statistical and assumption-based planning methods
- Ensure rigorous forecast performance tracking, including MAPE, Bias, touchless forecast rates, and driver explainability metrics
- Partner with the Business Analytics team to enhance visibility into forecast drivers, assumption changes, and variance explanations
- Use segmentation (e.g., volume/volatility matrices) to assign the right level of automation or enrichment to each SKU
- Lead the global demand planning team, setting vision, priorities and standards for process excellence and continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with Commercial, Finance, and Supply teams to align on one demand signal for the business
- Present forecast insights, risk/opportunity scenarios, and assumption impacts to the executive team during IBP cycles
- Collaborate with commercial planning and sales functions to reflect promotional plans, innovation, and competitive insights in the forecast
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in demand planning, commercial planning, S&OP/IBP, or supply chain planning, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Demonstrated experience implementing and using advanced planning systems (experience with o9 is a plus)
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with a track record of cross-functional leadership in a matrixed organization
