Junior IT Business Analyst
Position Overview:
Responsible for formulating business process scope and objectives as they relate to the implementation, change and use of software applications and supporting technologies. Analyzes and evaluates existing and proposed systems and devises or modifies processes and procedures for solving business problems. Owns understanding and documenting requirements for integrations between systems.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose problems, develop and implement solutions as they relate to applications within the IT Portfolio along with understanding relevant business processes
- Perform complex and demanding tasks dealing with the analysis, design, development and implementation of solutions serving business processes and functional areas
- Collaborate with Integration & Application Developers, Analytics team members and various technology and business specialists to provide solutions consistent with IT strategic direction and platform standards
- Provide necessary coordination, facilitating interactive analysis and design sessions with business process owners and functional leaders
- Define and document scope and requirements for new configuration and development to meet changing business requirements
- Provide support to end users and maintenance of environment in compliance with established service level agreements
- Assist project manager in defining, scheduling and budgeting tasks
- Provide guidance to the business and functional areas in developing tests, training plans and materials
- Complete detailed system design and write functional specs for development. Perform configuration changes and/or prepare design specifications for associated development teams
- Drive improved user productivity through developing and implementing new business process and systems solutions
- Proactively contribute to an overall IT strategy via direct experience in tactical projects and specific user requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years IT experience including systems development expertise in designing and developing department-wide or enterprise-wide applications, preferred
- ERP experience, preferred; SAP or Oracle experience is a plus
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to facilitate interactive design and functional specification sessions
- An analytical approach to problem-solving, coupled with the ability to conceptualize systems
- Demonstrated communication and organizational skills
- Clear ability and desire to adapt to changing work environments
- Proven capability to quickly acquire new technology skills and willingness to learn new technologies and be open to new opportunities
- Able to work with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical
- A customer-focused service attitude
- Good organizational skills, with the ability to meet objectives
- Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to motivate others and a “team player”
Other:
- Willingness to work hours outside of normal hours as needed
- Ability to travel
- On-call rotation (7x24) with other team members
