Members of our maintenance team keep our machines, lines and facilities running. You and your teammates will be responsible for all production and industrial refrigeration equipment, as well as our electrical controls systems. You’ll also work closely with our engineers and production members to make important upgrades to our production machinery, as we innovate and grow the business.

Industrial Refrigeration Technician

1st Shift

 

Pay Range: $34.93/hr - $44.55/hr

Hours: 6:00am – 2:30pm Monday - Friday (Overtime as production demands, weekend work expected)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Operations and Preventive maintenance of...
    • ammonia equipment
    • HVAC and ventilation equipment
    • steam boiler
    • compressed air systems
    • domestic hot water / high-pressure hot water systems
    • other as determined by workload
  • Be responsible for the performance and safety
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems
  • Coordinate work with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Member must be highly motivated with high expectations
  • Maintain a computerized PM program in SAP/ APSM
  • Maintain an Ammonia PSM program and Compliance documentation in a digital SIS / APSM computerized program.
  • Maintain all Utility monitoring systems to stay current with operations.
  • Assist with new utility equipment installation or equipment relocation.
  • Maintain facility and equipment to meet Johnsonville, OSHA, and U.S.D.A. standards.
  • Maintain 95% uptime on all utility equipment
  • Maintain all utility areas in a neat/orderly fashion.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement
  • Manage outside vendors/contractors.
  • Be able to work overtime as needed to complete your workload.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • At least two years of maintenance experience is required (welding, machining, metal fabrication skills)
  • Basic Electrical experience/understanding required. (PLC’s a plus).
  • 3-5 years experience in ammonia refrigeration/HVAC a plus.
  • Ammonia certificated or similar a plus
  • High-pressure Boiler certificate a plus
  • Basic knowledge of burners and hot water systems
  • Basic experience reading one-line diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Basic computer skills needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • A strong math background is required.
  • Must be able to complete all required documentation paperwork accurately
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to maintain all Facility GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • SAP and/or Stellar, APSM experience with PSM program a plus
  • Must be willing to share skills to help others develop and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Committed to providing great detail and pride in everything you do.
  • Must complete all LMS training requirements.
  • Must complete annual training requirements for PSM compliance.
  • Must be willing to be a member of the Ammonia Response team and maintain training requirements.
  • Must be willing to perform recon in the event of a chemical release
  • Must have some formal education in courses specifically related to ammonia and PSM regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NFPA 70E/Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  • Based on business necessity, must be proficient in English
  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment, post offer drug screen, physical and background check
