Rotational Career Development Program - Food Safety and Quality Team

Position Overview:
As a member of our Rotational Career Development Program, you will develop and leverage competencies in a variety of cross-functional areas focused around our Food Safety and Quality team.
This program is specifically designed to provide you with the experiences and tools needed to successfully grow within our culture, ultimately preparing you for future leadership roles at Johnsonville.
You will complete a variety of rotations over a 24-month period beginning in January or May/June 2025, being exposed to experiences within cross-functional areas of focus. The areas could include Food Safety and Quality, Research and Development, Supply Chain, and Sourcing. Each rotation offers robust assignments highlighting the functional requirements and processes across Johnsonville.
At the successful conclusion of the development program, the expectation is that you will settle into a Technical Role within FSQ after 24 months.

In this role, you will:
- Using the Johnsonville Way, work with members to strategically coordinate continuous improvement efforts and programs related to food safety and quality processes and systems for harvest, fresh sausage, and RTE sausage processing, including defining performance measures.
- Identify trends and process variation; be a resource to Johnsonville for corrective actions to optimize the safety and quality of products
- Interact and develop strong relationships with other members including Marketing, Manufacturing, Food Safety and Quality, Engineering, R&D, Sourcing, and Supply Chain
- Challenge your ability as a technical member on multiple cross-functional teams and act a resource for projects assigned.
- Leverage your network of industry, academic, and vendor relationships to help solve problems.
- Expand your skills as a communicator by working effectively with all levels within the organization
- Continuously learn new skills and knowledge as you become increasingly proficient in a wide range of areas
- Become recognized within Johnsonville and the food industry as a world class FSQ professional as a result of your accomplishments, continuous learning, and leadership abilities
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science or meat science by Spring 2025, required
Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a quality role.
- Experience in food required; meat/poultry processing (raw, RTE (batch, continuous and cook-in-bag) and harvest preferred.
- Knowledge of USDA/FDA regulations and standards required.
- Prior leadership experience preferred.
- SQF experience preferred.

Other Requirements:
- 3.0 GPA or higher preferred
- Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time
