Equipment Sanitation Technician backup Assistant Team Lead
Pay Range: $26.06/hr - $28.05/hr + $.75/hr upon ATL result block completion + $2.00 Shift Premium
Hours: 9:00pm - 5:30am, Monday-Friday (Overtime as production demands)
Position Overview
The Sanitation Assistant Team Leader will perform as a proactive “change agent” in the manufacturing facility and provide support and direction to members of a work team. The Assistant Team Leader will be expected to lead, motivate, and train members to achieve production results, improve individual skills, and enhance teamwork; ensure compliance with safety, quality, and sanitation requirements; function as a technical and business resource in areas of system operations and production requirements; work towards continuous improvements in line performance measures by leading actions for assigned lines; and establish and sustain effective relationships with all members in order to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems. This leader will conduct daily sanitation practices, working online with members in an area this leader will own, to ensure equipment is clean and ready for production.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively lead the team in the areas of safety, quality and performance
- Evaluate and coordinate training needs and efforts of Sanitation team members required for the current production processes and integrate quality and safety training standards
- Evaluate staffing needs of lines and maintain budgeted resources to maximize line output
- Coach and guide team members in need of development and lead the disciplinary process by determining what, if any, discipline is needed
- Daily scheduling and effective resource allocation
- Monitor the performance of team members, providing feedback and documenting results through performance appraisals
- Effectively manage member relations with the team and co-workers
- Effectively conduct team meetings
- Complete daily performance reports and shift paperwork
- Effectively communicate information to members
- Lead process improvement initiatives in the area
- Develop and execute improvement plans in all four critical success areas
- Be able to create and promote a team environment, manage conflict, and resolve current issues
- Be a role model to all members
- Effectively manage all aspects of safety on the line; address issues with safety immediately, and be a safety champion
- Manage and maintain sanitation inventory
- Work closely with chemical suppliers to determine department focus
- Monitor bacteria counts and take appropriate actions to correct any issues
- Participate in the selection process for open positions
- Monitor and ensure timely completion of master sanitation schedule
- Work closely with USDA inspectors
- Actively participate in daily sanitation of equipment
Experience:
- Prior experience in leadership/supervision
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of secondary language preferred, but not required
- Demonstrated communication and listening skills and ability
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead by example and also involve others in the decision-making process (team player)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible by adjusting priorities
- Act as a “change agent”
- Ability to innovate
- Knowledgeable in regulatory compliance (safety, USDA, HACCP)
- Ability to use and basic knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Internet, Lotus Notes
- Ability to navigate SAP
- Working knowledge of sanitation and sanitary design principles
- Strong ability to make decisions with limited resources
- Excellent attitude
