Channel Innovation Manager – C-Store
Position Overview:
It’s an exciting time to be a part of the Johnsonville Foodservice Channel Marketing Team, a strategic growth area for Johnsonville. The marketing vision at Johnsonville is to create a world-class brand that creates success for our customers, drives innovation in the marketplace, and delivers an exceptional financial return. As the Channel Innovation manager for the Convenience Store (C-Store), you will be the expert on the product innovation pipeline and own the development and execution of the development plan, overall product, and strategy for the C-Store channel and customer.
The Channel Innovation Manager plays a critical role in developing and executing the company’s product strategy and pipeline and is, therefore, key to enabling the company to achieve its future growth targets.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying, evaluating, and implementing new ideas, products, services, or processes by leading cross-functional teams, managing innovation projects from ideation to execution, and ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals, all while fostering a culture of creativity
- Design, plan & launch C-Store innovation to help deliver company growth goals and ensure a robust multi-year innovation pipeline
- Build compelling business cases that demonstrate a deep understanding of consumer insights and unmet needs, marketplace trends, competitive environment, and customer interest
- Develop a strategic vision, roadmap, and integrated marketing support for the channel.
- Act as a leader within the company
- Work collaboratively with various cross-functional team members, including R&D, project managers, culinary, operations, sales, finance, and demand planning
- Work closely with key members of the sales team and directly with major national retailers to ensure robust go-to-market plans and customer success
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or business is required; MBA preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years in marketing for a consumer product company
- At least 2 years of experience in new product development from concept to commercialization
- Previous experience in C-store or Foodservice channel marketing preferred
Skills:
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, including data analysis, P&L understanding, and market research tools, such as NPD/Datassentials/Technomic
- Entrepreneurial; demonstrated ability to identify, design, and build new lines of business
- Balance strategic rigor with willingness to roll up sleeves to make it happen
- Strong collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Strong presentation skills, including internal teams, senior leadership, brokers, and customers
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office tools
