Inventory Control Specialist

1st Shift

Position Overview:
The responsibilities of this position are, but not limited to, taking part in all aspects of inventory in the Maintenance Department including, counting parts, shipping and receiving parts, changing locations or parts, getting part numbers for new parts, and create reports of parts counted.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Order, receive, and store inventory parts, equipment, and materials
• Daily receiving of parts to proper drawer/shelf locations
• Communicate with the Purchasing Department on vendor variances and/or materials that don’t meet Johnsonville’s quality expectations
• Cycle counting of the entire part inventory to find discrepancies
• Manage the oil room and keep lubricants stocked
• Prepare lamps, ballast’s, and batteries for recycling pick-up
• Update machine parts lists when new parts are added or changed on machines
• Follow FIFO procedures through scanning to stage locations, physically moving materials, and following up when returning unused materials
• Communicated with Production Reporting to ensure accurate materials are being consumed in each production line
• Remove old or unused parts from inventory and adjust min/max levels as needed on stocked parts
• Create physical inventory documents and review inventory reports
• Maintain records of supply room transactions such as disbursements, receipts, credits, and inventory
• Perform PM’s on stockroom parts

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years prior related experience
• Strong SAP background
• Experience with RF scanners is a plus

Skills and Competencies:

• Knowledge of general USDA regulations is required
• Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and GMP is required
• Basic computer skills are required
• Knowledge of Kronos, SAP, Outlook and MS Office is preferred
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment
• Great communication skills

Working Conditions

• Member must be able to work in a humid and wet environment
• Temperatures will vary depending on time of the year (winter/summer)
• Must be able to tolerate spice odors
• Physical demands for this position require being able to work and stand most of the time
• Member must be able to lift 15 to 25 pounds, carry and push 5 to 25 pounds approximately
