As a member of our retail sales team, you’ll work closely with Johnsonville’s marketing and category management teams to develop and deliver consumer insights and category reviews that help our customers be successful. You’ll also work with our broker partners to make sure that sales strategies are fully and effectively executed, from headquarters to the retail stores. Director of Sales - Walmart

 

Position Overview:

Johnsonville, LLC offers top-quality products in the U.S. and International markets. As the Director of Sales for Walmart & Sam’s within our US Business Unit, you will drive the success of the Walmart team, one of Johnsonville’s key accounts. Your role includes leading the Walmart and Sam’s teams, making calls to Walmart Corporate headquarters, and developing brand strategies for the entire US market.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the cross-functional Walmart Team while coaching and developing members who support the business
  • Develop and align strategies for Johnsonville’s largest account while managing the trade P&L
  • Own strategy, development and execution of national and regional plans
  • Define sales and market share growth targets, collaborating with insights partners
  • Partner with key customer departments for innovation and product launches
  • Collaborate with regional sales teams to achieve market-specific goals
  • Influence national pricing trends through customer collaboration and internal teams
  • Build relationships with Category Managers, Buyers, eCommerce teams and Executives
  • Create innovative programs and promotions to drive awareness
  • Execute initiatives to achieve distribution objectives through fact based selling
  • Maintain distribution across all Johnsonville categories
  • Drive sales volume growth by managing relationships with both existing and new customers, focusing primarily on sales and order generation
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operational leadership at our Global Headquarters in Wisconsin to support execution strategies; periodic travel to WI will be required

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters preferred

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years in sales, preferably in consumer-packaged goods or food sales
  • Sales experience with Walmart
  • Experience building relationships with key customers, including senior executives
  • Proven P&L responsibility and Trade Promotion Management experience
  • Experience with syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI, Scintilla etc.)
  • Shopper marketing or other marketing background is a plus

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Superior strategic and tactical business planning skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong team leadership and collaboration skills

 

 

Other Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30%
  • Must be at least 18 years old
