Position Overview

1st Shift  6AM - 2PM  Monday - Friday; Saturdays as needed

2nd Shift  2PM - 10PM  Monday - Friday; Saturdays as needed

3rd Shift  10PM - 6AM  Sunday- Thursday; Fridays as needed

 

Performs activities related to the Rapid Pak production line packaging, sleeving, and/or Case Pack boxing of product, and subsequent sanitation activities for the production areas Complies with all safety, food safety, quality, SQF, GMP and USDA requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor packaging supplies to ensure an adequate amount is available for the shift; notify Material Handlers for delivery of additional material to restock as necessary.
  • Set up and use the palletizing shrink wrapper, case label and code dating equipment per production specifications.
  • Monitor and change film, Zebra Printer and date codes as needed.
  • Check sealed boxes of finished product coming from the production line to ensure they are labeled, taped and completed per customer specification.
  • Stack boxes off the production line onto pallets, making sure the boxes are stacked neatly, in the correct pallet pattern format per customer specifications.
  • Shrink wrap finished pallets and label correctly.
  • Enter the pallet data into the computer system (pallet count, product information, pallets used, etc.).
  • Make sure product is separated by code dates.
  • Move full pallets to the correct bay in the Finished Goods cooler.

Education

A minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalency is normally required

Experience

Previous forklift and material handling experience is strongly preferred.

Skills

Must possess good verbal and interpersonal communication skills Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Must be able to read and understand written and spoken English language.

Basic computer proficiency is required.

Must possess strong math skills, with the ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Must possess the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, and the ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills are required.

While performing the duties of this job, the partner is frequently required to stand for extended periods, bend, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The partner is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, with repetitive motions of hands, arms and shoulders Partners are required to lift up to 40# on their own Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. There is a wide variation of temperatures ranging from 35° F to 100° F in the various production work areas. The work environment is wet and slippery most times. Palletizers are required to wear slip-resistant composite-toed footwear The noise level in the production work environment is usually loud Partners are required to wear frocks, hairnets, gloves and hearing protection at all times in the production areas, and cold weather work gloves when working in the cooler Gloves, goggles, face shield, rain suits and rubber boots will be required at different times in the course of the work being performed.
