Position Overview

Coordinates internal activities related to the receiving and storage of inbound raw materials. Complies with all safety, food safety, quality, SQF, GMP and USDA requirements, and provides backup assistance to other department personnel as needs dictate

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Perform all activities related to product and materials shipments into the company on a daily basis, including recordkeeping, reporting, and tracking.
  • Verify quantities received vs. Bills of Lading; check received material for damage or quality issues and; complete the Commodity Receiving form.
  • Pull samples for ingredient verification.
  • Enter receipt of goods into the MAS500 system.
  • Resolve receiving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with maintaining the Meat Receiving Logs.
  • Confirm exceptions and unusual deliveries; track the order back to the originator internally to verify.
  • Establish a JIRA claim when there is a raw material non-conformance upon receipt.
  • Check in and assist drivers at the north shipping and; receiving dock.
  • Unload raw materials from trucks on inbound shipments.
  • Provide assistance with the transferring of finished goods from the south wing cooler (570) to the north finished goods cooler (590) if at capacity, to avoid cooler overload.
  • Consolidate all #2 product in the north Finished Goods cooler.
  • Monitor the recycling trailer and containers (totes and; barrels) for pick-up.
  • Provide backup assistance to the Expeditors when needed.
  • Operate the baler to compact corrugate cardboard for recycling.
  • Verify forklift equipment is in good operating condition prior to operating at the start of the shift; follow all established forklift safety procedures.
  • Verify, receive, and ensure timely delivery of maintenance items
  • Comply with all safety rules and regulations per established company policies.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education

A minimum of a GED or high school diploma is normally required.

Experience

A minimum of 3 years warehouse inventory management experience is required, preferably in a USDA-regulated food manufacturing environment. Previous forklift and material handling experience is required.

Skills

Communication Skills
Must have strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as Bills of Lading, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to interface effectively with other partners, and must be able to train others the receiving portion of the operating system.
Computer Skills
Must have basic computer proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet. Previous experience with MAS 500 or related integrated manufacturing software MRP or ERP system is preferred. Experience with bar coding systems is also preferred
Mathematical Skills
Must have accurate basic math skills.
