 As a member of our supply chain team, you’ll ensure our customers receive noticeably better service and that our products are delivered accurately and on time. With great attention to detail, while still seeing the big picture, you’ll ensure all elements of the distribution process are considered and accounted for. Additionally, you’ll assist our operations team in obtaining the lowest industry cost. Working closely with internal partners, customers and vendors, you’ll provide a seamless and hassle-free logistics process.

Position Overview

Starting Hourly Rate: $25.68. Skill block completion will increase hourly rate.
Pay Range: $25.68 - $27.25 per hour, plus $1.50 shift premium (an additional $0.75 after result block completion)

Hours:  11:00am – 7:30pm, Monday-Friday (Overtime as production demands)

 


This position is primarily located in the shipping and receiving area. The Shipping Assistant Team Leader works closely with the Team Lead to motivate and engage the team in achieving goals, improving individual skills, and strengthening teamwork. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with safety, quality, and attendance requirements while establishing and sustaining effective relationships with all Members. By fostering an environment of innovation, cooperation, and ownership, the Assistant Team Leader supports collaborative problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

•    Driving PIV standing forklifts to move materials within the facility. This includes spending a significant time in the freezer rotating product for storage and shipment
•    Using handheld scanning devices to move materials within the SAP system
•    Consistently handle “great tasting” sausage and raw material goods
•    Have an impact on customer success by productively assembling customer orders and keeping order pickers supplied with necessary product 
•    Maintaining the highest standards of detail as it relates to product specifications and quality
•    Actively participate in daily meetings and project teams
•    Work as a team by helping fellow team members who may need help
•    Communicate with other departments regarding schedule changes
•    Pull spice and stage for the next day’s run
•    Communicating and working with truck drivers for delivery and pickup of goods
•    Complete miscellaneous tasks as needed

 

As an Assistant Team Leader you get to:
•    Effectively lead shipping in the areas of safety, quality and performance
•    Be a safety champion and address issues with safety immediately
•    Evaluate and coordinate training needs and efforts of team members 
•    Coach and monitor the performance and development of team members, providing feedback and documenting results through performance appraisals
•    Lead the disciplinary process when necessary
•    Lead daily team meetings
•    Complete daily performance reports and shift paperwork
•    Effectively communicate information to members and coaches
•    Lead process improvement initiatives 
•    Be a role model to all members

Education

•    High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience

•    Experience working in a shipping/warehouse environment utilizing PIVs 
•    Ability to obtain forklift certification and maintain a good safety record
•    SAP experience and RF scan gun preferred
•    Prior Supervisory experience preferred

Physical Demands:
•    Must be willing to work in very cold working conditions pulling product (our freezer gets as cold as -20°F)
•    Walking and/or Standing throughout the shift
•    Bending and/or Reaching throughout the shift
•    Willingness to work in cold conditions for extended periods of time

Other Requirements

•    Must be at least 18 years old
