Senior Sales Planning Analyst

As a member of our sales team, you’ll work closely with Johnsonville’s marketing and category management teams to develop and deliver consumer insights and category reviews that help our customers succeed. You’ll also work with our broker partners to ensure sales strategies are fully and effectively executed, from headquarters to retail stores.
Position Overview
As the Senior Sales Planning Analyst, you will act as a key liaison between Sales, Marketing, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, and Commercial Finance, integrating customer perspectives into all aspects of cohesive planning and execution. You will work with your peers and cross-functional partners to deliver annual operating plan goals and customer commitments. You will champion cross-functional collaboration to solve challenges and seize opportunities in real time.
Responsibilities
Lead Sales Planning, Forecasting & Optimization:
- Communicate customer forecasts and business drivers to Demand Planning and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) teams: core distribution changes, new product launches, promotional plan updates, etc.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to proactively identify and scorecard business risks, opportunities, and contingencies, balancing customer needs with business goals
- Partner with Category Leadership to understand current consumer and category trends
Drive Execution:
- Develop customer profiles that can inform brand strategy with a focus on customers’ strategic interests
- Develop and track customer key performance indicators (KPIs) against distribution and pricing initiatives and promotional compliance to guardrails to achieve the annual plan
- Lead customer engagement meetings for sales areas and regions to drive towards execution of strategy with sales
- Partner with Category Leadership and Marketing to develop customer specific category growth stories
Collaborate Across Functions:
- Partner with Sales, Demand Planning, Commercial Finance, Category Leadership, Brand Marketing, Consumer Insights, Shopper Marketing, and Revenue Growth Management
- Work with Demand Planning, Sales Leadership, and Supply Chain to address headwinds and business interruptions
- Align with Category Leadership and Brand Marketing on optimized assortment recommendations
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree required
Experience
- At least 4-6 years’ experience in Trade Marketing, Sales Strategy, Sales, Demand Planning or similar discipline experience required
- Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Industry preferred
Skills
- Outstanding communication skills (verbal, written, listening, presentations) with the ability to interact with all levels of Johnsonville customers and members
- Ability to develop objective point-of-view, building constructive rapport with business partners and influencing senior team members
- Strong organizational skills and project management experience
- Ability to contribute to a strong team environment with positive and constructive input and desire to improve the Commercial Planning team and function
- Exceptional Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience with syndicated POS data tool (i.e., Circana Unify, Nielsen Nitro/Answers)
Other Requirements
Travel: 5-10% of your time
