 Producing high-quality products for our customers and consumers to enjoy starts with immaculate facilities. As a member of Johnsonville’s sanitation team, you’ll ensure all our facilities are cleaned in accordance with strict procedures to meet or exceed our high sanitation and food-safety standards. Working with chemicals, hoses, lifts and other equipment, you’ll ensure our facilities are ready for the next shift of production.

Position Overview

Pay Range: $31.18/hr - $36.80/hr + $2.00 Shift Premium
Hours: 9:00pm – 5:30am, Monday – Friday (Overtime as production demands)


The Team Leader will perform as a proactive, “change agent” in the facility and provide support and direction to Members of a work team.  The Team Leader will be expected to lead, motivate, and facilitate learning for Members to achieve productivity results, improve individual skills, and enhance teamwork; ensure compliance with safety, quality, production and sanitation requirements; function as a technical and business resource in areas of system operations; work towards continuous improvements in performance measures by leading actions for assigned duties; and establish and sustain effective relationships with all Members in order to foster an environment where innovation, cooperation and ownership are used to solve problems.

Responsibilities

•    Coach, lead and develop a team of Members to consistently deliver great performance
•    Coach and model JVL way as a way of life
•    Analyze opportunities as well as plan and execute actions around safety, quality, people and productivity initiatives
•    Evaluate and coordinate training needs and efforts for Team Members and integrate quality and safety standards.
•    Lead, develop, and initiate process improvement efforts that create necessity
•    Be responsible for performance, productivity and efficient utilization of resources
•    Champion of Safety
•    Lead PRIDE meetings and be a resource for your team
•    Manage and maintain sanitation inventory
•    Work closely with chemical suppliers to determine department focus
•    Monitor bacteria counts and take appropriate actions to correct any issues
•    Participate in the selection process for open positions
•    Monitor and ensure timely completion of master sanitation schedule
•    Work closely with USDA inspectors
•    Actively participate in daily sanitation of equipment
•    Actively participate in company sanitary design efforts

Experience

•    Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in leadership/supervision

Skills

•    Knowledgeable in regulatory compliance (safety, USDA, HACCP)
•    Working knowledge of sanitation and sanitary design principles
•    Demonstrated communication and listening skills and ability
•    Demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently
•    Strong ability to make decisions with limited resources
•    Strong interpersonal skills
•    Ability to lead by example and also involve others in the decision making process (team player)
•    Ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible by adjusting priorities
•    Act as a “change agent”

•    Collaborate with internal customer’s to ensure the sanitation department is meeting or exceeding their requirements.
•    The ability and desire to spend time on other shifts for an extended period of time
•    Based on business necessity, must be proficient in English.
