Position Overview

Pay Range: $31.18/hr - $36.80/hr + $1.50 Shift Premium 
Hours: 12:30pm – 9:30pm, Monday-Friday (Overtime as production demands).

 

As the formulation team leader, you will have the opportunity to provide direction and support to the formulation members.  This leader is responsible for an environment of high engagement and continuous improvement in performance measures. They will demonstrate the ability to establish and sustain effective relationships with all members and departments to foster an environment where innovation, cooperation and ownership are used to solve problems.

Responsibilities

•    Create an environment that ensures Member involvement, accountability, and ownership in the implementation of programs, ideas, and processes.
•    Lead, motivate, and facilitate learning for members to achieve production results, improve individual skills, and enhance teamwork.
•    Ensure compliance with safety, quality, member services, and sanitation guidelines and practices. 
•    Act as the technical and business resource in Formulation, to ensure we are following best practices.
•    Coach the development of personal capabilities for yourself and the team.
•    Transfer ownership of the work to the members who do the work.
•    Learn and coach to change leadership practices.
•    Promote continuous improvement among Team Members.
•    Ensure a safe team atmosphere.
•    Facilitate daily Tailgate and MDI Tier 2 meetings.
•    Lead and participate in projects that improve safety, quality, and cost.
•    Responsible for the crewing and scheduling of members as well as verifying timecards for accuracy.
•    Maintain budgeted resources to maximize output.
•    Setup, run, rotate positions, teardown, and inspection of equipment in your area such as grinders, blenders, and spice sifting but including hot water washes all by following proper safety lock out tag out procedures.

•    Operate the dual grinders and run all other equipment within the department.
•    Communicate between Scheduler, Production Coordinators, Team Leaders, and Production Reporters as needed.

•    Must be able to manage the quality of materials used (i.e. spice sifting, rejecting bad materials, etc.).
•    Communicate with purchasing members regarding “out of ordinary” circumstances with materials.
•    Able to effectively do Fat Analysis offline.

Experience

•    Minimum of two years’ leadership experience required.

Skills

•    Desire to coach and develop others.
•    Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft 365.
•    Ability to properly use computer programs such as SAP, Kronos, etc.
•    Demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently.
•    Demonstrated ability to facilitate MDI meetings. 
•    Strong listening skills. 
•    Strong interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to lead by example and involve others in the decision-making process (team player).
•    Ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible by adjusting priorities.
•    Act as a change agent and change leader. 
•    A proactive thinker with the ability to engage in improvement and innovation practices. 
•    Knowledgeable in regulatory compliance (safety, HACCP, GMP and USDA).
•    Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
•    Must be able to obtain a fork-lift license and willingness to be a trainer for fork-lifts.
•    Willingness to work extended hours including weekends.
•    Based on business necessity, must be proficient in English.
