 As a member of our supply chain team, you’ll ensure our customers receive noticeably better service and that our products are delivered accurately and on time. With great attention to detail, while still seeing the big picture, you’ll ensure all elements of the distribution process are considered and accounted for. Additionally, you’ll assist our operations team in obtaining the lowest industry cost. Working closely with internal partners, customers and vendors, you’ll provide a seamless and hassle-free logistics process.

Position Overview

Johnsonville is dedicated to delivering exceptional-quality products and fostering a work environment where every member can grow, contribute, and perform at their best.  The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for supporting daily fleet operations, ensuring that company vehicles, drivers, and transportation activities run safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role reports to the Fleet Operations Planner and supports driver planning, scheduling, hours of service (HOS) compliance, fleet reporting, and communication with internal teams, drivers, and external vendors. We are looking for an organized self-starter to support Johnsonville’s Private Fleet office operations. 

Responsibilities

  • Support daily and weekly dispatching, driver schedules, and shipment paperwork
  • Monitor and create required reporting for shipment tracking and prioritization
  • Schedule and confirm delivery appointments supporting dispatch plan
  • Update Fleet activity in Johnsonville’s Transportation Management System
  • Leverage several third-party web-based systems for shipment scheduling and tracking 
  • Prepare and process invoices, monitor 3rd Party payables (broker billing)
  • Ability to process and submit driver payroll when necessary
  • Assist with onboarding drivers, fleet procedures and technology
  • Function as a key contact for drivers related to asset challenges, route modifications, and operational updates. Promptly communicate delays, breakdowns, or service disruptions to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Utilize fleet management software to monitor performance and compliance alerts
  • Prepare reports on fleet costs, utilization, fuel trends, and KPI performance
  • Maintain accuracy of fleet data in multiple systems

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of previous Transportation experience required
  • Demonstrated commercial motor vehicle dispatch experience required
  • Comprehensive understanding of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules required 
  • Load planning and appointment scheduling experience preferred
  • Proficiency with fleet management and/or dispatching software preferred
  • Familiarity with maintenance scheduling and/or shop operations preferred
  • SAP, E2OPEN (BluJay), Transportation Management System (TMS) experience a plus

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to make decisions
  • Math and analytical skills to report, summarize, and make decisions/recommendations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent oral and written communication with ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment against deadlines
  • Excellent customer service, both internal and external customers

Other Requirements

Travel: Not a ton, less than 10% of your time
