Producing high-quality products for our customers and consumers to enjoy starts with immaculate facilities. As a member of Johnsonville’s sanitation team, you’ll ensure all our facilities are cleaned in accordance with strict procedures to meet or exceed our high sanitation and food-safety standards. Working with chemicals, hoses, lifts and other equipment, you’ll ensure our facilities are ready for the next shift of production.

Position Overview

Pay Range: $26.06/hr - $28.05/hr + $2.00 Shift Premium
Hours: 9:00pm - 5:30am, Monday-Friday (Overtime as production demands)

 

The Equipment Sanitation roles are technical, and crucial to equipment and production floor activities. Equipment and facility sanitation are about more than just cleanliness.  Equipment can be perceived to be clean, free from visible dirt, yet still be contaminated with microorganisms. Our Sanitation teams and Team Leaders are the first line of defense in the fight against microorganisms. This role is important for Food Safety; ensuring consumers get a great tasting/performing product that is safe for their families.

Responsibilities

•    Support the manufacturing of “great tasting” sausage products by ensuring our product has superior quality
•    Work together with other Members to obtain World Class results in safety, quality, and efficiencies
•    Ensure sanitation and food safety specifications are met
•    Develop best practices for new technology
•    Participate in daily TAILGATE meetings and project teams 
•    Provide ideas and suggestions to drive results and establish best practices
•    Set goals and objectives, both personal and as a team member, to acquire “superlative” performance in order to support the Johnsonville Way
•    Grow, develop, and stretch yourself by continuing to find new and better ways to meet your commitments to yourself, your team, and to JVL

Essential Duties:
•    Prepare production equipment for cleaning by locking out machinery and covering all electrical equipment with plastic
•    Use of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals
•    Rinse, foam, scrub, and sanitize production equipment ensuring that all areas meet Johnsonville’s and USDA’s standards of acceptability
•    Conduct environmental and bioluminescence swabbing
•    Wipe condensation
•    Must be able to complete sanitation documentation paperwork accurately

Experience

•    Basic sanitation experience desired

Skills

•    Ability to work at heights that are above ground level is required.
•    Be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
•    Have basic knowledge of Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP's)
•    Must be able to identify Critical Control Points (CCPs) in area of responsibility and maintain all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
•    Must be dependable, honest and proactive
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills required
•    Strong math background is required
•    Must be able to become certified in chemical usage
•    Willing to work in cold and wet conditions
•    Must be able to work overtime if necessary
