Cost Analyst

As a member of this team, you’ll partner with other areas of the business, providing financial analysis for decision-making purposes. We’ll rely on you to report, plan and evaluate our financial results, as well as ensure our financial transactions and reports are timely, accurate and efficient. In short, you’ll help drive our exceptional financial performance.
Position Overview
This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual to leverage their analytical/accounting expertise as a Cost Analyst, specifically serving the Sheboygan Falls Campus Network.
The successful candidate will join a team committed to manufacturing excellence, continuous improvement, and member development. This is an opportunity to support other aspects of the network by providing impartial financial analysis and guidance, decision support and development of financial acumen across the entire facility team.
Responsibilities
- Build Relationships at all levels of the plant including Core Team, Team Leaders, & Floor Members
- Be an integral member of the plants' operations teams supporting strategic direction, identifying key financial opportunities and leading key improvement initiatives
- Play a key role in providing financial support to other parts of the campus network
- Work with team members to create and continuously improve management reporting and performance metrics; educate members on financial acumen and help team members make financially sound decisions
- With the coaching of the Multi Site Plant Controller:
- Provide financial analysis and actionable business insights to drive key performance metrics
- Lead aspects of month end, forecasting and annual budgeting processes for the campus; ensure that facility processes are streamlined and align with overall company processes
- Assist the Commercial teams in developing meaningful and reliable product cost estimates for new products
- Critically evaluate business opportunities; prepare financial analysis and recommendations for proposed capital expenditures including return on investment (IRR); assist in capital project closing and postmortem analysis
- Actively participate in identifying and initiating cost savings from continuous improvement
- Support the development of procedures and controls that ensure meaningful and reliable product costs and accurate inventories
- Understand all plant business processes and the impact on cost reporting; involvement in all accounting decisions related to plant transactions
- Participate on various project teams
- Other tasks as assigned
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
Experience
- 1-3 years of accounting/analytical experience in a manufacturing environment required
Skills
- Proven computer skills required (Intermediate Excel, Word, Powerpoint); SAP preferred but not required
- Proven communication skills, ability to present financial information in a meaningful understandable way
- Highly motivated self-starter with a demonstrated ability to quickly acquire new skills
- Desire and ability to be a thought leader and change agent in the context of a team environment
- Ability to adapt to and embrace changing work environments
Other Requirements
- Travel: Not a ton, less than 10% of your time
- This role is fully onsite at our facilities. Must be willing and able to work onsite on a full-time basis.
