Members of our human resources (referred to at Johnsonville as “Member Services”), office support, and administrative assistant teams—including executive assistants and other key support roles—play a vital part in both big picture strategy and day-to-day operations. From supporting effective meetings and coordinating executive calendars to negotiating vendor contracts and designing programs in health and wellness, compensation, finance, and development, their contributions are essential to helping the organization achieve its goals.
Position Overview
The Indirect Compensation Assistant plays a key role in enhancing the health, wellbeing, and overall experience of Johnsonville members. This role supports and administers a wide range of programs—including leave management, wellness resources, and benefits—that directly impact how members navigate work and life. By ensuring these programs run smoothly, compliantly, and with a member‑first mindset, the Indirect Compensation Assistant helps create an environment where members feel valued, informed, and supported.
Responsibilities
- Manage the FMLA and leave process for all facilities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable FMLA regulations
- Clearly communicate eligibility, required steps, and how leave interacts with pay and insurance
- Partner with payroll and timekeepers to ensure accurate and timely data
- Administer the disability plans
- Act as a liaison between members and the carrier
- Provide necessary documentation and reporting to support claim determinations
- Oversee health and wellness resources in partnership with our healthcare provider
- Coordinate with maintenance, safety, and clinic staff to ensure a clean, safe, and well‑equipped onsite wellness clinic
- Ensure appropriate staffing, resources, and operating hours
- Manage scheduling, communication, and logistics for onsite, traveling, and nearby wellness services
- Handle billing and related administrative tasks
- Lead company wellness initiatives
- Coordinate the premium incentive program
- Apply for wellness-related rewards
- Administration of wellness related programs and resources such as Fitness Equipment Loans, Fitness Reimbursements, smoking cessation courses and flu shots
- Responsible for the fitness center and onsite clinic
- Monitor facility needs and coordinate maintenance
- Develop and maintain user policies
- Coordinate personal training and fitness class offerings
- Conduct fitness center orientations for member
- Administer recognition programs
- Send flowers or new parent packages
- Monthly coordination of the Way to Go Program, and other recognition programs
- Provide support with coordination and set-up of events
- Assist with Indirect Compensation communications
- Create orientation materials and coordinate the presenter schedule while participating in the presenter rotation
- Maintain and update Indirect Compensation content on the company intranet site
- Support additional communication efforts, including home mailings, email updates and other program-related messaging
- Administer other Indirect Compensation programs including loans, reimbursement programs, discounts, and education related programs
Experience
- At least 1 year of HR or related experience required
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
- SAP or other ERP experience preferred
- Must be experienced in Microsoft Word and Excel

- Strong people skills; approachable, empathetic, and member‑focused
- Confident communicator, comfortable speaking with individuals and groups
- Tech‑savvy and able to learn new systems quickly
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Proficiency in data management, including data entry and organization
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Attention to detail with a focus on precision and quality
Other Requirements
- Member Status: Full Time, Hourly Office Technical
- Travel: Not a ton, less than 10% of your time
- Must be at least 18 years old
