Members of our marketing team work on all aspects of the brand and its portfolio of products, including consumer insights, advertising, consumer promotion, shopper marketing, new products, sales, operations and finance. As a member of this team, your responsibilities could include leading the development of integrated marketing efforts, leading advertising and packaging development, promotional and website development, creating and executing media strategies and plans, championing new products, advancing consumer insights and brand strategy, and collaborating with sales teams to develop strategic partnerships. The marketing team is an integral part of the organization’s overall success.

Position Overview

Johnsonville is seeking a passionate and strategic Associate Brand Manager to help drive growth in the Cooking Occasion category which covers products like rope sausage, ground sausage, frozen meatballs, and slices.

In this role, you’ll uncover consumer insights, shape category strategies, and collaborate across teams to bring innovative ideas to life. You’ll play a key part in developing and executing plans that strengthen Johnsonville’s growth in cooking occasions.

Responsibilities

  • Support Brand Manager in strategy development and brand planning for products in the Cooking Occasion.
  • Lead near-term execution of brand and organizational strategies.
  • Identify and activate consumer insights to drive brand relevance and category growth.
  • Champion Johnsonville’s role as a premium sausage brand in cooking products by influencing category strategy pricing and promotional strategies, and execution at retail.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, R&D, Insights, Agency Partners) to align and activate brand strategies.
  • Develop and deliver near-in innovation and renovation initiatives that keep the brand fresh and newsworthy, while partnering with brand manager to develop long-term innovation strategy and pipelines
  • Lead integrated business planning and consumption forecasting in partnership with demand planning team.
  • Provide ongoing analysis of brand performance, competitive activity, and category dynamics to inform decision-making.

Key Deliverables for this Position:

  • Lead in the development of near-term planning, and support brand manager in the development of long-term strategy that aligns to our vision and drives profitable growth for the Cooking Occasion business. 
  • Leading voice on key consumer, category and competitive issues.
  • Identify business issues and opportunities to develop strategic and programming recommendations to achieve brand goals.
  • Responsible for on-going analysis supporting brand initiatives.  
  • Deliver and commercialize near-in Innovation that keeps the business newsworthy and grows share of shelf
  • Lead ongoing evaluation of plans in order to deliver benchmarks set for brand and business performance, including market share growth, forecast accuracy, innovation contribution to sales growth and media effectiveness. 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required 

Experience

  • 2–4 years of experience in brand management, consumer marketing, or category management, required
  • Experience leveraging consumer insights and syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Circana) to uncover trends and inform brand strategy, pricing, and promotional plans preferred
  • CPG or Food industry experience strongly preferred
  • Experience managing or contributing to innovation projects
