Position Overview

At Johnsonville, our Members work together to make a big impact on our customers’ success! We’re looking for a detail-oriented, proactive problem solver to become an Assistant Credit Manager on the Finance Shared Services team.

In this role, you’ll help ensure timely payments, reduce credit risk, and build strong relationships with customers around the globe. You’ll collaborate across teams, learn the full order-to-cash process, and have opportunities to grow and lead as you shape your career. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who aspires to become a Credit Manager and wants to build a strong foundation in credit operations, with the potential to coach the Deduction Specialist Team and the Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and take proactive action on overdue accounts or disputes to ensure timely collection, including daily review of orders on credit hold.
  • Support and help develop the capabilities of our Credit & Collections outsourcing partner to ensure strong performance and collaboration.
  • Assist in onboarding new customers by evaluating customer creditworthiness through financial analysis and credit reports for both domestic and international customers.
  • Support the Credit Manager in setting and reviewing credit limits for new and existing accounts across multiple regions.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate credit files and documentation in compliance with international credit laws and company policies.
  • Collaborate with sales, supply chain, and finance teams to balance credit risk with business growth objectives.
  • Actively partner with cross-functional teams while learning and supporting the order-to-cash process.
  • Assist in developing and implementing credit policies and procedures for multi-country markets.
  • Prepare AR/Credit monthly metric reporting with the ability to analyze and provide insights for leadership.
  • Provide backup support for the Credit Manager and AR cash posting activities, ensuring accurate payment application while contributing to strategic credit initiatives.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, preferred
    • OR Associate’s degree combined with a minimum of 8 years progressive relevant experience
  • Credit-related Certifications (Collections, Credit, and International) a plus

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in credit, collections, or accounts receivable, required
    • Exposure to international/global AR processes, strongly preferred
  • Strong ERP systems experience required (SAP preferred)
  • Proven success in leading and developing a team, required
  • Experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry preferred
  • Familiarity with trade promotion management systems and their integration with AR is a plus
  • Knowledge of international credit laws and trade compliance is a plus

  • Travel: Not a ton, less than 10% of your time
