Maintenance Planner

Position Facility: Holton
We can’t do what we do best – make great-tasting sausage products – unless our equipment is reliably running at its best. Members of our maintenance team keep our machines, lines and facilities running. You and your teammates will be responsible for all production and industrial refrigeration equipment, as well as our electrical controls systems. You’ll also work closely with our engineers and production members to make important upgrades to our production machinery, as we innovate and grow the business.
Responsibilities
- Create planned weekly maintenance work schedules which include: preventative maintenance; list of planned work orders; and resource requirements
- Plan manpower and prioritize trade resources based on Manufacturing, Scheduling, and Facilities Maintenance input
- Data analysis/mining: Analyze failure data, cost data, PM schedule adjustments, Predictive Maintenance tool trends, and generate reports
- Report out on key Maintenance Metrics: Planned work completed; Preventative Maintenance Compliance; Breakdown Work; Backlog Hours; etc
- Coordinate “major” Maintenance jobs that involve the coordination of contractors, multiple parties and planned outages
- Maintain and manage Maintenance Work Order backlog
- Manage the Preventive Maintenance program
- Update and maintain Preventative Maintenance frequency and content using CMMS data and work order/Technician feedback
- Complete kitting for all planned work orders which includes verifying parts, prints and procedures are all available when assigned
- Participate in various projects and process improvement teams
- Train members on new maintenance processes
- Report issues as needed
- Complete all other duties as assigned
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
Experience
- 3 years prior related experience in maintenance/reliability planning & scheduling in a GMP/USDA regulated area
- 1 year SAP experience
- 1 year maintenance experience
- Leadership experience is a plus
Skills
- Ability to understand parts/inventory system thru SAP for production and utility equipment
- Computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and some Access
- All candidates should be organized, detail oriented and have the ability to prioritize their workload
- The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstration of a high skill level in planning
- Be a proactive team player
- Highly motivated self-starter with the willingness to learn
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Other Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre-employment, post offer drug screen, physical and background check
- Travel – up to 5-10%
